New Member Orientation

There’s a lot to think about when conducting a New Member Orientation. This training module covers why, when and where to conduct a New Member Orientation as well as some other thoughts to consider.

The New Member Orientation Agenda places all of these handouts in a sequence to follow. The PowerPoint presentation and Guidelines introduce the newest club members to the history, policies, procedures and activities of Sertoma and their new club. The New Member Responsibilities list the expectations of a new Sertoman.  Membership Recruitment and Retention

Membership Recruitment and Retention is vital to Sertoma’s success and here are some guidelines that follow a 17 slide PowerPoint presentation, that discuss the philosophy of growth, BANC, recruiting ideas as well as retention. Past International President, Bill Stanage Jr., has written an article “Let’s Get Found” that is very informative and will hopefully assist you with Recruitment and Retention. The Recruitment & Retention Strategies provides information from fellow Sertomans on how their clubs qualified for GEMHunt awards. The Members Bio Handout is a sample of what your club can do to help New Members become aquainted with your club.

The Membership Dinner Drive training presentation follows a PowerPoint presentation, that is motivational as well as fun. There is also a sample letter of invitation that can be changed or adapted to your club to send to prospective New Members.
