New Partnership Program Offers Financial Rewards for Many Sertomans 65+

Sertoma has partnered with Grouper, an organization that is leading a movement that encourages healthy living through meaningful social connections and shared experiences, to bring an exciting new opportunity for our members and potential members.

Grouper provides benefits to eligible Sertoma members aged 65 and older for staying active in their communities. Staying socially active in group activities has proven health benefits, according to the U.S. Surgeon General. It is especially important for older adults, who have above-average risks of social isolation. 

Sign up is easy! Grouper offers:

  • $50 upfront just for having an eligible health insurance plan
  • $20 every 3 months for reporting your in-person activities
  • Access to a monthly newsletter featuring members, group leaders and the impact they are having on their communities

How do I join?
It's easy! Click here to check your eligibility in a few simple steps. You’ll find out right away if your health plan covers the Grouper benefit. Then, follow the steps on the screen to enroll or call (833) 445-2400 to sign up by phone.

Note: Online enrollment will require you to establish a new user account with Grouper. This is completely separate from Sertoma and Sertoma.org. We will not have access to your Grouper account. All user and technical support will be provided by Grouper only. 

Is Grouper an Insurance Company?
No. Grouper is not a health insurance company, and they do not sell health insurance to members. They partner with health plans that offer activity benefits to their members and encourage healthy and meaningful connections to members like you through group activities.

Is there a cost for Sertoma, the club or me?
No. Grouper is free to you, clubs and Sertoma! Funds will be mailed directly to the individual participant.

Will Grouper share my personal information?
No. Grouper will never share, rent or sell your personal information with anyone, including Sertoma! Furthermore, Grouper does not have access to your personal health records and has very minimal program eligibility information from your health insurance provider.

Can our club promote this partnership to attract new members?
Yes! Sertoma and a list of its clubs will be included on the Grouper website for anyone 65+ looking for ways they can enjoy Grouper benefits.

We encourage clubs to share our communication pieces as part of their recruitment efforts. However, due to legal and programmatic restrictions, we ask that you please use only graphics and messaging released by Sertoma International headquarters. Specific materials will be available upon request starting some time the week of January 13th. If you would like to request a specific communication medium (social media messaging, flyer, email template, blog post template, etc.), please email bmcgrathkong@sertoma.org. Materials will not be pesonalized to each individual club.
