The Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma Club had the distinct honor of hosting one of its most distinguished guests to date—South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden—during a special luncheon this August. Joined by First Lady Sandy Rhoden, the visit was part of the
Governor’s Open for Opportunity tour across the Mount Rushmore State.
During the gathering, Governor Rhoden shared his insights on South Dakota’s priorities and outlined his vision for continued economic growth and development. He also took a moment to highlight the lasting impact the Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma Club has made on the lives of children throughout the state.
“I am committed to keeping our kids and grandkids strong, safe, and free,” Rhoden shared on Facebook following the event. “By giving back to our kids, the Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma Club shows that they are driven by the same mission.”
The Governor applauded the club’s outstanding work—particularly its efforts to provide hearing screenings to more than 9,000 first, third, and fifth graders across South Dakota each year. His visit brought meaningful statewide recognition to the club’s mission and outreach, shining a well-deserved spotlight on their service.
As a result of the event, a local news station featured a story on the club’s community impact, including a highlight of its first-ever female president, Jeni Brooks, a proud moment in the club’s history.
