By Brandi McGrath Kong, Director of Member Services
There are many pillars to Sertoma membership. While it may be true that our main focus is on Service to Mankind, we are also a service organization dedicated to building stronger local, regional and national leaders.
Leadership is important because it enables clubs just like yours to achieve the amazing things that Sertomans do. Without the skills and planning of club boards and committees, our membership would be unable to meet the needs of communities throughout North America.
The same is true for Sertoma on a regional and national level. So many of the projects and programs we do would not possible without the thought leadership of our officers and directors.
So, how do we help Sertomans build their leadership skills?
- Accessible Learning: Whether you are enjoying a program at a club meeting or taking part in an online training from the national organization, your membership ensures that you can readily take advantage of continued education.
- Personal Development: Hone professional and interpersonal development skills like public speaking, one-on-one communication, strategic planning and more.
- Structured Leadership Opportunities: You can climb the Sertoma ladder while developing and improving your skills as a leader through committee chairpersonship, project management and community-club relationship building.
Are you interested in serving as a leader on the national level? Sertoma is currently seeking candidates for next year’s Board elections. Click here to learn more.
Candidates must declare their intention to run in writing to Aaron Ensminger at firstname.lastname@example.org by December 1 for inclusion in Sertoman magazine.
