Sertoma’s Mission is simple: To improve the quality of life today for those at risk or impacted by hearing loss through education and support. Oftentimes when we as Sertomans read this, we think about educating people on ways to protect their hearing, or how to make it easier for those with hearing loss to be part of their community. Sure, such discussion may include talking about SAFEEars!^® or A Sound Investment, but is that all that our mission is about? Is there more to educating those who are impacted by hearing loss?

Imagine you have dreams, big dreams, but you have spent your life in a world you don’t feel like you truly fit into. How can you make those dreams come true? We as Sertomans have just the way to help make those dreams come true while supporting our very own mission. How can we do that you ask? It is very simple—donate to the annual fund.

Through the annual fund, post-secondary students are given an opportunity to go to college. Sertoma gives scholarships every year to well deserving students with hearing loss. This gives them the opportunity to see their dreams come true, and as Sertomans,we have the chance to be a part of making that happen!

When you make the decision to donate to the annual fund at the Fellow level, a $125 donation, you give students from across the country the chance to dream big and to do things they might never have thought possible—just like many other students whose lives are not impacted by hearing loss. They are given the opportunity to make a difference in the world they live in, and all of this can be done in one simple step, make that donation. The more we raise for the annual fund,  the more students we get to help make their dreams come true.
