More Ways to Communicate

As a club member, I understand how important it is to stay connected with other members. Communication is key, whether it's for planning events, sharing updates, or just chatting with like-minded individuals. That's where communication apps come in.

Communication apps have become increasingly popular in recent years and for a good reason. They offer numerous benefits for club members, including:

Improved communication

One of the most apparent benefits of using communication apps for club members is improved communication. With these apps, you can easily stay in touch with other members, whether it's through text, voice, or video chat. This means you can quickly share information, ask questions, and get feedback without waiting for an in-person meeting.

Increased efficiency

You can streamline your club's communication processes by using a communication app. For example, you can create group chats for specific topics or committees, eliminating the need for multiple emails or phone calls. This can save time and prevent important information from getting lost in the shuffle.

Better organization

Communication apps can also help with organization. You can use them to schedule events, share agendas and minutes, and keep track of deadlines. This helps ensure everyone is on the same page and that essential tasks are completed on time.

Enhanced engagement
Finally, communication apps can enhance engagement among club members. By providing a platform for easy communication, members are more likely to participate and contribute to the club's activities. This can lead to a more vibrant and active community.

Private Facebook Groups

This can be a good option for clubs with members who are more likely to use social media regularly.

Private Facebooks groups are easy to use and work somewhat like a message board for members. One thing to note is that groups and pages are different. Facebook Pages are designed for businesses, organizations, and brands to promote their products and services. Facebook Groups are designed for people with common interests to connect with each other. One private group you might already be a part of is the Member Corner that Sertoma HQ hosts on Facebook. Facebook Groups can be used for the entire membership or board/committee. You can make more than one group, and groups can be for specific reasons. Groups allow your club to:

  • Make announcements easily

  • Easily tag members in posts

  • Have conversations on a platform that most already use

  • Control who has access to the group

When choosing a communication app for your club, there are a few things to consider:

Size of the club
The size of your club will be a major factor in determining which app to use. If you have a larger club, you'll need an app that can handle a larger number of members and messages. If you have a smaller club, you may be able to get by with a simpler app.

Type of communication
Think about the type of communication your club needs. Do you need to send text messages, make voice or video calls, or share files and documents? Make sure the app you choose has the features you need.

Budget
Some communication apps are free, while others require a subscription or membership fee. Consider your club's budget when choosing an app.

User-friendliness
Finally, make sure the app you choose is user-friendly. If it's too complicated or difficult to use, members may be less likely to engage with it.

Communication apps are essential for club members who want to stay connected and engaged. Using these apps can improve communication, increase efficiency, and enhance engagement among members.  With the right app and approach, your club can thrive and grow.
