By Brandi McGrath Kong, Director of Member Services and Conferences
We get calls every day in the Sertoma office from callers looking for hearing aid resources. While we are happy to connect many of them to our Hearing Aid Project, others do not currently qualify for our program. In that case, we are happy to share our directory of national and/or state resources that may be able to further assist them.
The Hearing Aid Resources directory is our online guide to finding hearing aid assistance programs across the United States. We have a list of over a dozen national programs that can provide financial and other support through the country, as well as links to a few veteran-only programs. We have also compiled programs in all 50 states for callers looking for help a little closer to home.
Our resource guidance isn’t just isolated to U.S.-based programs either. The site lists some international resources to help with inquiries that go beyond American borders, and we are always looking to expand our resource library.
This resource is not only beneficial to callers looking for assistance. It is also there to help our clubs looking to connect with local organizations, programs and agencies who are deeply involved in the hearing health field. If your club works with such a program and you do not see it listed on our website, please let us know by emailing mquinones@sertoma.org.
