Two years after Gina Cardinale received a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Scholarship from Sertoma, she checked in with us to let us know how her educational journey at Miami University is going.
Gina had a clear vision of pursuing a career in the business world as she started college. This past fall, she took a major step forward by declaring a double major in finance and accounting. Along the way, she’s set and achieved significant goals, including studying abroad. Gina spent her last semester in Luxembourg and had the incredible opportunity to explore 15 European countries.
“It was such an incredible experience,” Gina shared. “I learned so much!”
Another key goal for Gina was to graduate from a public Ivy school without any debt, and her Sertoma scholarship has been a crucial part of that journey. With two years already fully paid and two more to go, she’s feeling optimistic as she heads into her junior year. Gina is excited about the prospect of finishing her degree debt-free and looks forward to starting her post-college life unburdened by student loans.
Gina has promised to stay in contact with Sertoma so that we can continue to follow her educational career. We are proud of her success so far and look forward to seeing what the future holds for this ambitious young woman.
“Your consideration generously reminds me that my hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed,” Gina said. “For that, I want to express my sincerest gratitude for this scholarship.”
