Conference Education
Over the past few years, Sertoma has conducted numerous surveys to gather member feedback on the type of development that they want from us and from each other. It always comes back to two main topics: enhancing fundraising and building relationships.
At the 2024 International Conference, we’ll dedicate an entire afternoon to moderated roundtable discussions focusing on these two overarching themes and their relationships to other club activities like membership and marketing.
Attendees should arrive to Dallas ready to share their experiences, ideas, successes and challenges on topics like fundraising beyond events, assessing your fundraising success, building mutually beneficial community partnerships and marketing your mission to other nonprofits. We’ll wrap up with an idea-sharing session where all attendees can offer their insights as one group and reflect on what they plan to put into action when they return home.
Come ready to answer questions like:
- What are some things your club has done, considered, or might consider that could raise money for your club and mission that does not incorporate an event of any kind?
- How do you decide if you should keep an event and how do you handle fundraisers that are not meeting their goal(s)?
- How can a Sertoma club establish and maintain successful fundraising partnerships with local businesses, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term support for community projects?
- What partnerships, such as a Sertoma Affiliate, a community nonprofit or another service organization, has your club crafted that are beneficial to both parties involved?
- How did you find these partners and what challenges did you face?
- How do you market your club’s purpose and mission to other nonprofits and service clubs?
