Serving on the Sertoma International Board of Directors is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the mission and vision of our storied organization. This is an exciting opportunity for personal and professional growth, as it allows you to expand your network, develop leadership abilities, and collaborate with like-minded individuals who are passionate about SERvice TO MAnkind.

Sertoma International Board members play a critical role in fostering accountability, ensuring financial stewardship, and representing the interests of Sertomans in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Serving on the board is a chance to be a part of something bigger than yourself, to help create lasting solutions to important challenges, and to leave a legacy that will benefit future generations.

There is no perfect profile of a board member. Diverse and unique perspectives are needed. Board members should expect to commit a few hours of time each month, and while there is no required financial commitment, board members typically make a contribution to the Annual Fund that is consistent with their means.

For the 2025-26 year, members in the Mountain West and Great Plains regions will be selecting a new Regional Director (replacing David Oppenheim and Chris Huether respectively). In addition, every year we elect a new Sertoma International Vice President who becomes the President-Elect and President in subsequent years. To run for these positions, individuals must notify Executive Director Jason Camis in writing to jcamis@sertoma.org by January 31, 2025.

We invite anyone interested in learning more about serving on the board, the roles and responsibilities, etc., to join us for an informational Zoom call on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 6:30 pm Central. This is a perfect time to ask questions and hear directly from a former board member what you can expect if you are elected. Everyone is encouraged to attend, even if you aren’t planning on running until sometime in the future.
