2026 Sertoma Elections Are Just Around the Corner

By Executive Director Jason E. Camis, IOM

Once again, it’s that time of year when I’m compelled to ask you, valued Sertoma member, will you consider running for a spot on the Sertoma International Board of Directors? As always, we need members to step up and lead the organization for the next several years. This year, we will elect three new board members, serving terms from July 1, 2026-June 30, 2029.

  • Southeastern Regional Director (FL, GA, TN, MS, AL)
  • Great Lakes Regional Director (IL, IN, OH)
  • Vice President (International)

An organization like ours needs committed individuals who are willing to give their time, talents, and treasure at the highest level for Sertoma to be successful. You do not have to be an expert in all things Sertoma. You simply have to be willing to listen to our members, collaborate with fellow board members, and partner with staff in delivering programs and services to our clubs and communities.

From a commitment perspective, board members attend one or two in-person board meetings each year (usually in late Feb/early March in Kansas City and in the fall before our International Conference), in addition to bi-monthly board calls via Zoom. They also serve on a board committee, with varying time commitments. Finally, board members (especially Regional Directors) visit with clubs in their region to champion their activities and provide feedback to staff/board (visits in person, via Zoom, or old-fashioned phone calls all work well).

To be clear, there is time required; however, we recognize that our board members are volunteers too, so we try to be respectful of their time. I would encourage anyone interested in running for the board to reach out to a fellow board member or me to learn more about what the role is really like and how to be successful. All candidates must declare their intent to run to me in writing by mail or by email to jcamis@sertoma.org by January 31, 2026.
