For the past several years, Sertoma has proudly partnered with the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) as an official National Alliance Partner for its nationwide Walk4Hearing program. This meaningful collaboration creates a powerful opportunity for Sertomans and supporters across the country to take steps—literally and figuratively—toward supporting those with hearing loss.
Through Walk4Hearing, participants can raise funds to support two impactful Sertoma initiatives: Sertoma Scholarships and the Hearing Aid Project. Whether you're passionate about empowering students with hearing loss or helping individuals access the hearing devices they need, your participation can make a real difference.
Ready to get started? Here’s what you need to know:
- Walk Your Way—In Person or Virtually: One of the best parts of Walk4Hearing is its flexibility. You can join others at a community walk near you, connecting face-to-face with fellow supporters and advocates, or if you prefer, you can participate as part of a virtual team—walking on your own time, in your own neighborhood, on any of the national event dates. Onsite registration is also available for those who decide to join at the last minute, so there's no excuse not to get involved.
- Make Sure to Select Sertoma When You Register: When signing up, be sure to choose either Sertoma’s Scholarship Fund or the Hearing Aid Project from HLAA’s list of National Alliance Partners. This is important because HLAA donates 40% of the funds raised by our participants directly back to the selected Sertoma project. That means your fundraising efforts have a direct, measurable impact on Service to Mankind!
- Why It Matters: Every step you take and every dollar you raise helps support people with hearing loss across the country. Whether it’s helping a student afford college or ensuring someone receives a much-needed hearing aid, your involvement amplifies Sertoma’s mission to improve the quality of life for those affected by hearing loss.
Many of Sertoma’s other key partners are also involved in Walk4Hearing, including CapTel, Starkey, Cochlear Americas, ReSound and more. To find a walk near you, register for a virtual event or learn more about Walk4Hearing, please visit Walk4Hearing.org.
