Broad Ripple Sertoma Club and Hear Indiana Share Commitment to Indianapolis Families

Since its inception, the Sertoma Club Grant Program has provided clubs with an opportunity to support other nonprofits doing meaningful work in their communities—without the need to host an additional fundraiser or special event. For many organizations, the grant opens the door to new collaborations. For others, it offers a unique opportunity to deepen their impact with a mission they are especially passionate about. And for some clubs, it helps supplement their annual contribution to a longtime partner.

Such is the case for the Indianapolis-area Broad Ripple Sertoma Club. Although the club received $2,000 through the 2025 Club Grant last fall, members were able to leverage those funds into an $8,000 donation to Sertoma Affiliate Hear Indiana earlier this year. Hear Indiana’s mission closely aligns with the club’s longstanding commitment to supporting children and families living with hearing loss.

“The Sertoma Club of Broad Ripple has provided grants to Hear Indiana for the past several years, and this year we are happy to add another $8,000 local grant with the 2025 Sertoma Club Grant,” said Club President Gene Voss. “This not only highlights our commitment to volunteerism and community service but also enables us to continue our important work with Hear Indiana.”

Hear Indiana offers a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse communication needs of Indiana families. Its full-service clinic provides pediatric speech therapy and audiology services, while parents have access to information, referrals, advocacy, and emotional support resources to help them guide their children’s development. The organization also hosts conferences for clinicians and families, as well as special summer camps for children.

The Broad Ripple Sertoma Club has served the greater Indianapolis area since March 1958. Perhaps best known for its signature casino-style gaming fundraising, the club has raised more than $3 million for charitable causes.

Founded in Muncie and now headquartered in Indianapolis, Hear Indiana is a Sertoma Affiliate sponsored by the Morgan County Sertoma Club. Visit HearIndiana.org to learn more about its impactful work in the same community served by several Sertoma clubs.
