Every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of the obstacles they face. By investing in education and removing financial barriers, many Sertoma clubs continue to create brighter futures for students while strengthening the communities they serve.

The Sertoma Club of Bradenton is launching a new scholarship opportunity designed to support students with documented disabilities who are pursuing technical or vocational education after high school. Thanks to the collaboration of Manatee Technical College Financial Aid Officer Joe Lombard and Disability Resource Center Director Dr. Tammy Ralston, the program is ready to welcome its first recipients.

The club will award three $1,000 scholarships to eligible students, with priority given to applicants who have a speech and/or hearing disability. The new scholarships reflect the club's longstanding mission of supporting those impacted by hearing loss while helping students gain the skills they need to build successful careers.

This addition complements the club's already robust scholarship offerings, which support students at many stages of their educational journey:

     •   Four $2,500 scholarships for Manatee County high school graduates pursuing bachelor's degrees, awarded based on academic merit and community service.
     •   One $3,500 scholarship for a first-year student at State College of Florida, chosen based on financial need and community service.
     •   Two $2,500 scholarships for graduate students at the University of South Florida studying speech pathology or audiology.

Together, these scholarships demonstrate the Bradenton club's commitment to investing in education, supporting future professionals and creating opportunities for students with varied goals and backgrounds. From technical training to graduate studies, the club is helping to remove financial barriers so that students can focus on achieving their dreams.
